Ricoh Amazing Race Sydney | Race Rundown

Event: Classic Amazing Race

Players: Ricoh

Location: Sydney CBD

Hosts: Brett, Josh & Gabe

Shortly after the Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne events, it was Ricoh Sydney’s turn for some fun!

Shortly after the Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne events

The GM had flown down from Brisbane after completing the race up there a couple days earlier and he was once leading by example and spurring the troops into a competitive and inclusive frenzy straight from the first challenge!

Twig Towers was a hit and we had six teams making enormous towers with some very impressive teamwork and communication!

Teamwork and Communication

The mood at the final location was heart-warmingly jubilant, with drinks, banter and celebrations flowing in equal measure.

At the end of the day team “John Hall” won the day after an exceptional effort from all members!

Congrats to team John Hall and a huge thank you to Danielle and the whole Sydney Ricoh team!

Players: Ricoh

Location: Brisbane CBD

Host: Brett

While Josh was way west with Ricoh Perth, and Antony & Tamiah were down south with Ricoh Melbourne, Brett was up North with the awesome team from Ricoh Brisbane!

Ricoh Perth

A major highlight was the sand sculpture challenge! All teams hit the area at the same time and the competitiveness of seeing the other team’s creations made for an exciting time as each team tried to outdo the other!

A few words from Brett…

Teams definitely enjoyed the planning and strategy of this game. I think they were quite a conservative intellectual group at the start and the idea of letting their inner child out and having fun almost scared them! As soon as we played the opening task though their competitive nature kicked in for all teams! Certain individuals were totally transported by the event and went from quiet door mouses into competitive cheetahs! Not  Cheaters cheetahs. The fastest of Land animals on a mission.” – Brett

It was team “Comfort Zone” that won the day though, with an impressive 21min lead thanks to completing all challenges and bonuses!

Congrats to the Comfort Zone and a big thanks to Danielle and the Ricoh Brisbane team!

Ricoh Amazing Race Melbourne | Race Rundown

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Event: Classic Amazing Race

Players: Ricoh

Location: Melbourne CBD

Hosts: Antony & Tamiah

While Josh was running around with the Perth team, Antony & Tamiah were tearing up Melbourne’s CBD with the awesome team at Ricoh Melbourne!

The competitiveness was full on from the get-go with the teams launching themselves into the Tangram puzzles and the cryptic cones riddles!

Team at Ricoh Melbourne

The closing ceremony was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. And rightly so, it was a nail-biter with all teams hurling banter and elations in equal measure.

At the end of the day, it was team “Fitzroy Gardens” (named after a team member that mixed up the start location park and arrived late! hahaha).

Congratulations Fitzroy Gardens, and a huge thank you to Danielle and the Melbourne Ricoh Team!

Congratulations Fitzroy Gardens

Ricoh Amazing Race Perth | Race Rundown

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Event: Classic Amazing Race

Players: Ricoh

Location: Perth CBD

Host: Josh

The creator of chaos himself, Josh, headed west to Perth to tear up the CBD with the awesome team from Ricoh. After initially seeming more interested in a venture to the pub, the Ricoh boys didn’t take long to warm to the game and quickly turned into the banter-filled, competitive children-at-heart that we strive to turn everyone into 🙂

team

With just two teams, it was exciting to have polar opposite mentalities with team 1 channelling their inner Nike and embodying the slogan “Just Do It” (albeit with some expletives), while team 2 was quiet, calm and methodical.

Tim Tam Slam and Twig Towers were clear favourites, while the challenges involving engaging the public proved quite elusive!

Despite the jeering and heckling from Team 1 who were very confident they’d achieved victory, it was the methodical Team 2 that won the day and the bragging rights!

Congratulations Team 2 and a big thanks to Danielle and the Ricoh team!

Capricorn Game Show Surfers Paradise | Race Rundown

Event: Game Show Team Building

Players: Capricorn

Location: Surfers Paradise, Queensland

Hosts: Josh & Brett

It was a very happy reunion for Josh, Brett and the awesome Lisa from Capricorn! We’ve run heaps of events together but it had been a while between drinks, so it was fantastic to see Lisa and the team again!

We were super excited to show them our new Game Show, and they seemed stoked to learn that we weren’t going to run them around town! hahaha

Despite the happiness displayed for an indoor event, the pedometer dance provided the perfect opportunity to jump out of the seats and get those legs moving! It was an opportunity that the teams took to with a passion! (Seriously, we’ve never seen so much on-the-spot running to Taylor Swift before)!

Josh, Brett and the awesome Lisa from Capricorn

At the end of the event it was the mighty Team 21 that won the day! This was an especially sweet victory for Lisa who is celebrating 13 years at the company!!! Woohoo 🙂

Congratulations and a big thanks to the whole team at Capricorn, it was great to see you all again and we hope it’s not too long until the next round!

Commonwealth Bank Amazing Race Sydney | Race Rundown

Event: Classic Amazing Race Team Building

Players: Commonwealth Bank of Australia

Location: Sydney

Hosts: Josh, Jamila & Ryan

We love running team building events with the awesome people from CBA!

This time around, we were tearing around Sydney’s CBD on an Amazing Race!

This was an exceptionally close game with all eight teams finishing in very close proximity points-wise. All teams went hell-for-leather at the challenges except for one particular special challenge that eluded all teams! (It would have been the decider for sure if anyone found it!)

Yellow team were literally bouncing during final check-in as they were super proud of completing all their secret challenges! We get such a thrill out the fun you guys have, so this was just awesome to see! (Not to mention their results rocked!)

Despite the cheering from team Pink during the closing ceremony (win or lose, they were here to cheer hahaha), team Orange were the winners of the day!

Congratulations team Orange, and a huge thanks goes to Beverley and the whole team at CommBank – we can’t wait for next time!

Lendlease Custom Amazing Race Sydney | Race Rundown

Event: Custom Amazing Race Team Building

Players: Lendlease

Location: Sydney

Hosts: Brett & Gabe

We had an amazing team building event with the fantastic team from Lendlease!

Kicking off in Belmore Park, the teams were initially a little hesitant and shy, but it didn’t take long for Brett & Gabe to rev them up!

“Watching the transition from the very serious group at the start of the event to the children-at-play at the end of the event was amazing! We always promise to deliver this change in teams and it’s always so satisfying to see it happen!” – Brett.

teams

The teams were definitely strategic thinkers. One team, in particular, put in a huge effort to plan the best order in which to take the challenges. This led the other teams to knuckle down and follow suit, Luckily, the orders were different which made for an exciting game!

teamwork

At the end of the day, only seven minutes separated first and second place!

Congratulations to “The Stingrays” for taking the title and a huge thanks goes to Irene and the whole Lendlease team for a FUN and successful team building event! We can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Kylie’s 40th Birthday Melbourne | Race Rundown

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Event: Amazing Race With Bars

Birthday Gal: Kylie

Location: Melbourne CBD

Host: Antony

We had an amazing time sharing in Kylie’s 40th Birthday celebrations down in Melbourne 🙂 Here’s a quick few words from the host, Antony, that we reckon sums up a pretty awesome time:

“This was such a terrific race! The small number and their rapport as a group, made for a really enjoyable few hours for all involved and they were such good sports. Perfect blend of competitive and gracious.” – Antony

Kylie's 40th Birthday

The hangover challenge, street art challenge, and the variety of bar tasks were a huge success and almost as exciting to watch as it was to play!

As in every event, there has to be a winner, and the winners this time were…the…”Filthy Dirty Crack Whores”. HA! Congratulations team, and a big thanks to Kylie for sharing her birthday with us and to all her wonderful friends for an amazing time!

ACU Orientation Amazing Race Sydney | Race Rundown

Event: Classic Amazing Race (Universities)

Players: Australian Catholic University

Location: Sydney CBD

Hosts: Gabe & Dan

As part of the orientation for Australian Catholic University, students that were new to Sydney had the opportunity to run around with us having some fun and exploring the city!

We had a great turnout and the teams took to the challenges with an awesome fighting spirit!

Twig Towers was a favourite, particularly with one team (engineering students maybe?). They made easily the largest tower we’ve seen, but…the structural integrity wasn’t great – better luck next time team!

Everyone went nuts for the Tim Tam Slam – we truly are surprised every time by people’s happy willingness to eat dry Weetbix and vegetime coated tim-tams ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Congrats to team “We Got Nothin'” for taking the win of the day and thanks to all the players and ACU for making us part of the orientation fun! We can’t wait for next time!
