It was an absolute nail-biter event down at the Rocks with the amazing team from Accenture!

The Tim Tam Slam provided tonnes of laughs and banter as did the challenges that got teams to take photos with strangers! That can be daunting for some, but we find that not only do the teams warm to the idea, that they’re often pleasantly surprised by the general public’s willingness to participate!

The closing ceremony was the show stopper though as all teams waited on the edge of their seats for the results! Despite the first team crossing the line a good 30+ minutes ahead of the others, after the penalties and secret challenges were counted, the gap was a sheer 10 minutes!

Congratulations to team “The Incredibles Pt.2” for winning the day and a big thanks to Victor and the whole team at Accenture for an amazing team building event! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

Event: Amazing Race With Bars

It was all systems go with the amazing team from PGP Consulting down in chilly Melbourne!

The dove straight in, with a fiercely fought round of Tim Tam Slam with two teams neck-a-neck until a fumble with the Mintie wrapper spelled disaster!

Special shout-out to Lleyton from team CRLL who absolutely smashed the Weetbix challenge!

As it was an end of financial celebration for an accounting firm, it’s hardly surprising that many teams were keen for a drink! The bar challenges thus went down a treat – they even remembered to complete the puzzles as well as the drinks! Nice work 🙂

Congratulations to team CRLL for taking out the victory and a big thank you to Mariah and the whole PGP team for an awesome time! See you all again soon!

Event: Custom Amazing Race

Players: Global Beauty Group

Location: Melbourne CBD

Hosts: Ben, Tamiah & Tom

We had an absolute blast in Melbourne’s CBD with the awesome team from the Global Beauty Group! Together, we created a fantastic customised race that represented the companies values: Supportive, Reliable, Passionate, Commercial, Accountable, Innovative, Fun, Respectful.

This was a wild race with a mere 40mins separating the winners from the final team across the line! There were so many highlights, but Karaoke, the Egg Game, and Picture Perfect stood out for all teams, with team “The Lime Margaritas” happily showing footage of their egg-in-the-river sabotage!

The closing ceremony was also a highlight, from psyching out team Vikings into thinking they were the fastest Tim Tam Slam team, to the award-ceremony like silence and expectation as the winners were read out by Ben!

Despite losing out on Tim Tam Slam, it was Team Vikings that won the day, but only just with Fast & The Curious only a minute behind them!

We had the pleasure of hosting the amazing team from Infopeople at the New Theatre in Newtown!

This crew are no strangers to team building and the boss, Paul, was out to take his first win in events! The competitiveness and banter started early as Brett ran through the personality types and nobody had difficulty identifying which group they fitted in with!

As always, our events have a knack for bringing out the inner child in everyone and it’s particularly awesome for us to see the more quiet people in the group really come alive and get rowdy!

The puzzles and construction challenges along with the acting game “fairy tail in a minute” were favourites with plenty of laughs and taunts!

Luckily, Paul’s team won the day! Congratulations Paul’s team, and a huge thanks to Linda and the whole team for an amazing team building event! Can’t wait for next time!

Event: Impro Gladiators

Players: Achieve Forum

Impro Gladiators is our awesome improvisation event that gets your team up and acting! Not only is this game SUPER fun, it’s an excellent team building event as it encourages everyone to leave their comfort zones and strengthen their communication, both verbally and nonverbally, in a series of skits!

The fantastic team took up the challenge and it was up to Brett & Skyler (both trained actors) to show them the ropes then transport them to a range of scenarios and situations through a series of improvisation games!

As Achieve Forum are corporate trainers, they’re very aware of the importance of social interactions, being open and receptive, and encouraging conversations. This was on full display with some seriously awesome teamwork and performances!

We’ve said it a hundred times before, but we’re consistently impressed with the talent and performances that we see during these events! It didn’t take long before the whole group were champing at the bit to act!

Space Jump and Bus Stop were crowd favourites, with absolutely everyone jumping up to give it a go!

A few words from Brett…

“My favourite part of the event was our game fairytale in a minute where teams take a very popular fairytale and create a minute long re-enactment of this fairytale. We then throw everything up in the air and ask them to do a different version of this fairytale… For example, we say do it in 20 seconds, or do it backwards, or do it in gibberish, or in the style of an opera or home and away! They really committed and it was super, super funny! One particular team that did Cinderella actually had me crying with laughter!”

At the end of the day, the best actor medals went to…Marina, Ty, Kim, Jordan, Emily, and Omar! Congratulations to you and to the whole Achieve Forum team – we can’t wait to play again!

What to get your team together for a really unique team building event?

Event: Game Show

Players: Robert Walters Recruitment

Location: North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, Sydney

Hosts: Josh, Bella, Tilly & Toby

Having run an event for the awesome team at Robert Walters in the past we knew how competitive they were going to be and once again, they did not disappoint! There was jeering and cheering, competitive banter and some participants who literally had their game faces on.

A room full of 120 recruiters is typically pretty loud but during a couple of games, you could have heard a pin drop because they were concentrating so hard!!!

One game that got the biggest cheer was one of our simpler challenges – the tongue twister! Our top 5 teams all got resounding applause and cheers at successfully completing level 5 of the challenge. Nice work everyone!

“As competitive as they all were there was such a fantastic fun community feel that everyone was able to just throw themselves into this game without any inhibitions – this was a team bonded!”

The day was won by Team 1, and boy did they want it BAD!!! Congratulations team 1 and a special thanks to Natasha and the amazing team at Robert Walters!

Event: Classic Amazing Race

Birthday Gal: Madison

Madison and her friends took over Sydney CBD for a wild Amazing Race! We knew it was going to be a hard fought battle when every team sprinted off to the challenges and opened all the secret challenges! WOW.

Banter and accusations abounded throughout the race as each team fought hard for victory! The Thriller videos were a favourite, and the quality of them was way up there with the best we’ve seen! Conga line proved a challenge, but everyone persisted for great results!

Team Madi took the win with a very impressive time – Congratulations!

Happy Birthday Madi, we hope to see you and all your mates again!

Event: Survivor

It was a pleasure to once again host the awesome team from Marchese Partners! After playing our Amazing Race With Bars last year, they were ready to tackle Survivor!

Balloon centurion was definitely a favourite with many tactics being employed by the teams. The Australian team chose to stick together and remain in their corner, managing to avoid detection of other teams! It was all too late by the time other teams caught on to their clever tactic and they easily sailed to victory with three team members remaining!

Another highlight was the trivia time trial. Teams was so focused and ready to take the glory. They were a very smart group and while they managed to answer most of the questions, it wasn’t easy as some players were all about sabotage and would knock over some of the question boards every time they went out to look for questions (sneaky!). One particular staff member took it upon himself to steal each of the question boards every time he went out which lead to much laughter!

Team Australia won the day, with The Oompa Loompas and Team Jailbreak equal placed behind them!

A special thanks to Jasmyn and the Marchese Partners team for another awesome event! Can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Hailey and her family organise a group birthday celebration for everyone all at once every year. What a cool idea! This year, they headed out on an Amazing Race with Bars with Antony!

This group were just the best people! Even when the rain showed up (#classicmelbourne) there was no change to their competitive spirits! Tim Tam Slam in the rain was absolutely hilarious and definitely added an all new element to the challenge!

All the bonus challenges, particularly Let It Go and Hangover!

It was the Blue Team that won the day, with the Red Team hot on their heels!

Event: Survivor

Occasion: Rebecca’s Son’s Birthday Party

Location: Artarmon Reserve, Sydney

Hosts: Josh & Bella

We had the pleasure of running a very special game for Rebecca’s son and his best mates in the lovely suburb of Artarmon in Sydney’s lower north shore! With the soccer World Cup raging on, the teams were named after the kid’s favourite countries!

The clear favourite challenge of the day was the Giant Sling (it doesn’t matter how young or old you are – this game is always a favourite!).

As they were all soccer fans and loved running around and being active, Josh cooked up a special challenge that asked them to choreograph a rhythmic gymnastics routine! Their competitive spirit conquered their willingness to leave their comfort zone in about a heartbeat and we were absolutely blown out of the water by the amazing routines we saw!!!

At the end of the day, it was team “Jedinak Dudes” that took the win!

Congratulations to you and to the whole gang, what a blast!
