How Amazing Race Pub Crawl Games works

Let’s start at the very beginning: Our entertaining professional actor host will meet your team, explain the game, and get the competitive banter flowing in our exciting Opening Ceremony. Then each team will receive their race kit, map, and a list of checkpoints that are to be completed in any order; teams get to choose their own adventure/plan their own course and hope they’ve got the winning strategy!

Checkpoint challenges are varied and focus on thinking outside the box, encouraging the team to work together, and most importantly; have fun. These include eating competitions, location-based challenges, creative photo tasks, codebreakers and bar puzzles. The bar puzzles are non-drinking based and will require teams to solve riddles or crack codes and will take the same amount of time to complete as it does to have a drink…a complete coincidence, we swear! Whether participants choose to drink water or wine, these 2-3 bar stops make the game fun, social, and a great crowd-pleaser.

Creative and interactive bonus challenges can win your team valuable points, injects even more fun into the day, and means that winning has nothing to do with being the fittest or the fastest; this game is designed to be awesome fun for everyone! Add the elements of sabotage and Lady Luck and we’ve just turned regular “works drinks” into an epic game.

When all challenges have been completed, teams make their way to the final checkpoint. Here your host will use their performance background to present our nail-biting, omg-I-hope-we-won Closing Ceremony where bonus points and team placings are revealed one-by-one. Finally the victorious team is announced, awarded with their medals and the best prize of all: their bragging rights!

FAQs

What is the difference between a Classic Amazing Race and the Amazing Race with Bars?

The bar stops! The game elements between the two are almost identical, but the Amazing Race with Bars includes 2-3 bar stops where you'll complete a puzzle challenge. This game is perfect if your work events usually involve a cheeky drink or two, but you want the day to be more than just drinks.

Where does the Amazing Race with Bars start?

Usually an outdoor spot like a nearby park or open area. Or we can start in your offices! We will tailor the start location based on your group, so chat to us upon enquiring and we'll recommend the perfect start point.

What team sizes are there for the Amazing Races?

Pick your own teams and bring a list with you on the day, or we can randomly pick them for you. For team sizes we suggest: <20 Participants = 4 to 5 in each team 20-60 Participants = 5 to 6 in each team 60+ Participants = 6 to 8 in each team

Why brands, teams, friends, and family can’t get enough of Great Race!

We had a fantastic time with a couple of the girls even saying it was the best hens they’ve been to. Josh and Samm were fantastic, I highly recommend them both and your company to anyone that wants to look at doing the Amazing Race. Thanks so much for making the day a lot of fun and more importantly making the day easy on me, organising hens are quietly stressful at times but your team pretty much organised everything so I didn’t have to do much. Take care and please extend my gratitude to the team, Josh and Samm!

The guys were great, they sure know how to get everyone pumped up. The team had a blast; nothing but compliments to you all at Great Race!

All the teams had SO much fun! We got some great feedback saying how much everyone enjoyed their day! The boys did an awesome job, and we’ll definitely be recommending you to others. Hopefully we can do a round two one day! Thanks for such a great day!

The Race was such a great success – my team have been talking about it for days and are already placing requests to complete this activity again amongst their own teams. Thank you to Brett and Josh for being amazing hosts – we had a team that has had largely never met before the Race and both created a very comfortable environment for them all to connect as a team and complete the challenge.
