How Classic Amazing Race works
Our Classic Amazing Race takes all the best bits of the hit TV show without ever having to leave the country! Choose where you want to start and finish and how long you want to play for, and we’ll create an awesome game in-between! Or leave all this up to us and we’ll make location and duration suggestions based on what you want to achieve.
The game begins with an entertaining Opening Ceremony and explanation hosted by one of our awesome professional actors. This epic adventure will see each team locate checkpoints by following a map and solving cryptic clues. At each checkpoint you’ll need to complete a challenge such as eating competitions, constructions tasks, cryptic puzzles, and detours: a choice between two challenges, both with their own pros and cons. You’ll also be faced with sabotage missions, creative photo bonuses, locked challenges, and contend with Lady Luck.
Teams will cross paths as you attempt to find the best route to complete the game and make your way to the final checkpoint. Even though RACE is in the title, the winners are not based on being the fittest, fastest, or first across the finish line. It’s more about WHAT you do, rather than how FAST you do it, making this awesome fun for all ages and fitness levels.
Once all teams have made their way to the final checkpoint our hosts hold the most entertaining and suspenseful Closing Ceremony you could hope for! With competitive banter flowing between teams we finally reveal the winners, award them with their medals and most importantly; their bragging rights! With new relationships formed and rematches being demanded, we leave you to the sweet sound of your team buzzing from an unforgettable day.
FAQs
Can we start the game in our offices?
Almost definitely yes! When enquiring, let us know you'd like to start in your offices and we'll double check the nearby area to make sure we can design a game starting from that point. We will need a space where your entire group can gather for the Opening Ceremony.
Where does the game finish?
We usually finish up at a pub so everyone can enjoy a post-game drink and debrief. Pubs are also the perfect place to hold our exciting and boisterous Closing Ceremony. Other finish locations include a nearby park (although keep in mind if the weather is bad it can put a bit of a *dampener* on the day) or we may be able to finish back at your offices.
How physical is the game?
Most of our routes involve around an hour of walking, broken up into short 5-15min bursts between checkpoints. The challenges themselves are not physical, and the game has been designed to be suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The winners are NOT based on the first team to cross the finish line. The game is more about WHAT you do than how FAST you do it.
What happens if it rains?
We operate rain, hail or shine. If it looks like wet weather we'll provide super glamorous, high-fashion ponchos for everyone. If the weather is too dangerous to be outside we'll be in touch to discuss alternate options.
