How Water works works
Did you know that 1 billion people in the world don’t have access to clean drinking water, and this is the biggest killer of children under the age of 5? The Water Works program by Helping Hands provides simple water filtration systems to impoverished communities to give them the basic human necessity of clean drinking water. We combine the existing Water Works program with a collection of interactive, fun and hands-on team building activities to create a complete package for your team.
The event begins with an Opening Ceremony where the overall objective for the day is explained by our awesome professional actor hosts. First, teams will battle it out in a series of challenges designed around the theme of construction and innovation as we build towards the final play-off. These challenges will see the group split into smaller teams and verse each other in construction tasks, memory challenges, eating competitions, and puzzle building.
The winners of each challenge will receive points, with the top two teams making it into the final play-off which will involve both teams assembling a water filtration system. The first team who is able to build their system and filter 200mL of clean drinking water will be crowned the winners of the Water Works program. If you’d prefer all teams to build their own system and create an artwork sticker you can order additional units to your program.
Teams will also design an artwork on a large sticker that has its own unique tracking code. This sticker will be applied to a water filtration system and your team can track when your unit has reached a community. You’ll also receive a photo of the system being used by local members of the community which really allows the impact of this rewarding team building activity to hit home.

Why brands, teams, friends, and family can’t get enough of Great Race!
Just wanted to personally thank you for the session you and your team provided at the U@UNSW conference. It really met all our boxes and aligned with my debrief. Its especially refreshing to partner with an organisation who just get it without the need for micro-management. So… THANK YOU. I look forward to working with you guys again in the future.

Please extend my thanks to Josh and Brett and the crew that ran our excursion last week. It was a great day and everyone who participated, students and teachers continue to rave it was great fun! Accessible, comprehensive, well times and professionally ran. Words can not really do justice to how great it was. Given our rapture with the program we will be making this an annual event.

I would love to convey how fantastic the day was, Brett and staff provided perfect activities/challenges and a level of energy which started the day with a bang. We took with us to Southbank 150 students with very cynical attitudes and what the experience helped generate is a mountain of new friendships, faith and trust in each other and a spirit of confidence and social cohesion I have been trying to achieve all year.

I organised the amazing race for a Hens party and what a blast it was! The challenges were fun, cheeky and exciting and bought out the competitive side in all of us. The memories we made that afternoon will never be forgotten. Our host on the day Antony was awesome. From the time of enquiry to the day of the event, Vanessa, was friendly, patient and very professional and made sure it all ran smoothly. Thank you! I would highly recommend this company if you’re looking for a fun activity for any event!

The Great Race hosted a double hen’s party for my friends (in Sydney). It was beyond amazing. Organising the race was so easy and they really listened to all of my requests – making the event Bride vs Bride with larger groups, taking into the girls’ competitive nature and emphasising the little ways to cheat. The day itself was fantastic. It was lightly raining but ponchos were provided. Everyone was set up for a day of fun by our host, Skylar. He did a fantastic job of making everyone welcome and setting the mood. My team lost by only a few points and I can really say that this didn’t dampen the mood at all. What an adventure 🙂 🙂 Thank you so so much for everything. The brides and all the hens guests had so much fun!

We did a Great Race as part of a hen’s night and it was a terrific day. Completely exceeded my expectations!! Very well organised and a lot of planning had been done to make it a fun interactive day. We all had such a great time. I definitely recommend. Our host Gabe was hilarious, full of energy and make sure we had smiles on our faces all day. Thanks Gabe and the Great Race team! Top day!!
