How Hipster Homicide works
Part murder mystery, part escape room, part treasure hunt, this is an uber cool interactive game that will see your team uncovering the mysteries of urban hipster life. Our professional actor hosts will meet your group and explain the ins and outs of the game. Don’t worry, no one will be asked to take on a character like a 90’s murder mystery party or ‘act the part’, we’ll leave that to the local hipsters.
Teams will receive case files with locations of interest which include two bars, parks, the local streets and alleyways. At each of these locations you’ll need to solve riddles and crack codes to reveal clues that will help you eliminate people from your list of suspects. As the game unfolds you’ll collect newspaper clippings, QR codes, handwritten notes, audio excerpts from police interviews, staff incident reports, receipts, and be able to have a drink or two at the bar stops. The puzzles have that awesome escape room feel with locks, lights, codes, and mirrors, and just like a treasure hunt you have to hunt around the streets to find them! You’ll also meet our hosts along the way for interactive challenges and games.
To add to the tongue-in-cheek vibe of the game, each team will have the option to complete a series of hipster themed photo & video challenges. From man-buns to latte art, vintage bikes to dressed up dogs, we give you plenty of opportunities to get bonus points (and good insta content) #winning!
Once teams have sufficiently sleuthed you all meet back at a bar, attempt to consolidate evidence and make your final accusation. Our hosts announce the accusations one by one, building as much suspense as a true crime podcast series finale. Finally the solution to the mystery is revealed and the team who was first to identify the killer and scored the most bonus points takes the glory! Case closed.

Why brands, teams, friends, and family can’t get enough of Great Race!
Just wanted to personally thank you for the session you and your team provided at the U@UNSW conference. It really met all our boxes and aligned with my debrief. Its especially refreshing to partner with an organisation who just get it without the need for micro-management. So… THANK YOU. I look forward to working with you guys again in the future.

Please extend my thanks to Josh and Brett and the crew that ran our excursion last week. It was a great day and everyone who participated, students and teachers continue to rave it was great fun! Accessible, comprehensive, well times and professionally ran. Words can not really do justice to how great it was. Given our rapture with the program we will be making this an annual event.

I would love to convey how fantastic the day was, Brett and staff provided perfect activities/challenges and a level of energy which started the day with a bang. We took with us to Southbank 150 students with very cynical attitudes and what the experience helped generate is a mountain of new friendships, faith and trust in each other and a spirit of confidence and social cohesion I have been trying to achieve all year.

I organised the amazing race for a Hens party and what a blast it was! The challenges were fun, cheeky and exciting and bought out the competitive side in all of us. The memories we made that afternoon will never be forgotten. Our host on the day Antony was awesome. From the time of enquiry to the day of the event, Vanessa, was friendly, patient and very professional and made sure it all ran smoothly. Thank you! I would highly recommend this company if you’re looking for a fun activity for any event!

The Great Race hosted a double hen’s party for my friends (in Sydney). It was beyond amazing. Organising the race was so easy and they really listened to all of my requests – making the event Bride vs Bride with larger groups, taking into the girls’ competitive nature and emphasising the little ways to cheat. The day itself was fantastic. It was lightly raining but ponchos were provided. Everyone was set up for a day of fun by our host, Skylar. He did a fantastic job of making everyone welcome and setting the mood. My team lost by only a few points and I can really say that this didn’t dampen the mood at all. What an adventure 🙂 🙂 Thank you so so much for everything. The brides and all the hens guests had so much fun!

We did a Great Race as part of a hen’s night and it was a terrific day. Completely exceeded my expectations!! Very well organised and a lot of planning had been done to make it a fun interactive day. We all had such a great time. I definitely recommend. Our host Gabe was hilarious, full of energy and make sure we had smiles on our faces all day. Thanks Gabe and the Great Race team! Top day!!
